Installation Process
Installing artificial grass is a great way to achieve a beautiful, low-maintenance lawn. Here are the general steps involved in the installation process:
- Preparation: The first step is to remove any existing grass, weeds, or debris from the area where you want to install the artificial grass. This will ensure a smooth and even surface for the new turf.
- Base Preparation: Once the area is cleared, the next step is to prepare the base. This involves adding a layer of crushed rock or gravel to provide proper drainage and prevent the growth of weeds. The base should be leveled and compacted to create a solid foundation for the artificial grass.
- Installation: The artificial grass is then rolled out onto the prepared base. The turf should be trimmed to fit the desired area and any seams should be carefully joined together.
- Securing the Turf: The turf is then secured in place using landscape spikes or adhesive. This step is important to ensure the turf doesn’t shift or move over time.
- Infill Application: Once the turf is secured, the next step is to apply infill. Infill is a material that is added to the turf to help it stand upright, provide cushioning, and improve drainage. There are a variety of infill materials available, including silica sand, rubber, and coconut fiber.
- Brushing and Grooming: Finally, the turf is brushed and groomed to help the infill settle and the grass blades stand upright. This step will also help to achieve a more natural look and feel.

Every project is different and has its own needs.
For example some of the above steps are not needed in case of a solid base (concrete area).
